JASMINE SPIESS: PLAYWRIGHT

A member of the Dramatist's Guild of America, Jasmine was inspired by The Playground Experiment, a collective of playwrights, actors, and other theatre professionals, to try playwriting as part of the PGE play development process. She began her playwriting journey at ESPA/Primary Stages, where the inspiration for her first full length play was "born". Jasmine attended the MT + NYC Collective writing retreat in Gardiner, MT for further inpiration.
Jasmine has many projects in development and has been honing her skills, continuing her studies at Primary Stages and with award-winning playwright, David Adam Gill.
Jasmine's monologue, "The Hypothesis" was performed at the Kraine Theater in NYC and is part of a published monologue anthology called "Faces of America". Her short play, "Tree Hugger", was produced by Break a Leg Productions as part of their Hope Springs Eternal Festival. Her short play, "Standing Up" was produced by New Ambassadors Theatre Company as part of the Heartbroke Festival at the HERE Arts Center in NYC. Jasmine's first full length play in development, "On Any Given Day in America..." was part of The Playground Experiment's First Reads Festival and has been workshopped for further development as part of the Valdez Theatre Conference in June 2022.
Jasmine regularly develops projects as part of her trusted partnership with The Playground Experiment, New Ambassadors Theater Company, and The Wine Box Players - All talented groups of actors and playwrights creating new works. Jasmine also serves as the Literary Manager for Break a Leg Productions.
